Santa Clara Model Aircraft Skypark

On May 1, 2024 John Perrin led 13 brave folks that set out for a 4 mile (r/t) hike from the Coyote Creek Visitor Center near Anderson Lake to the Santa Clara County Model Aircraft Skypark. As luck would have it, an aircraft operator named Matt was there practicing with his 24 lb., 10 hp plane. (He is in the foreground in the picture below). He answered many questions from our group and entertained us with various flying stunts. On the way back to the Visitor Center we all had to paused to let a local cross our trail – a 20-foot long rattlesnake! Well, maybe it was 2 feet but he got our attention. At the end of the hike, most of the group had very satisfying sandwiches at Mr. Pickles near the “Target” shopping center by Hwy 101.
