Sunol Regional Park Hike

Gisela Pearson lead a hike in Sunol Regional Park in a 6-7 mile loop from headquarters to the back area and back on Saturday, February 29th. The elevation gain was approximately 1100 feet. There were beautiful views and sunny skies.

Montgomery Hill Park Hike

Gary Lohr led a hike to Montgomery Hill park and then onto Falls Creek Dr. and back thru the park ending up at La Boulanger for coffee. The round trip was approximately 3.5 miles. .

Windy Hill Preserve Hike

 

Amy Meier led a hike in Windy Hill Preserve of approximately 7.5 miles with a 1200ft. elevation, starting at the Portola Road entrance, hiking a loop trail onSpring Ridge, Hamms Gulch and Betsy Crowder trails. At lunch time the fog rolled in making for a quick eat.

Coyote Creek (The Other Way)

Katy Peretti  led a hike north along Coyote Creek to Hellyer Pond on Wednesday,February 19th .  The 5 mile hike was along a flat paved mostly shaded trail.

Almaden Quicksilver County Park Hike

Wate and Johanna Bakker led hike in Almaden Quicksilver County Park . It was a 6-7 mile hike with elevation of a relatively modest,1000-1500 ft. They saw some early spring flowers and also viewed remnants of old mining sites.

Coyote Creek South Hike

 

Wendy Ledamun and Rich Bainbridge led a hike along the Coyote Creek Trail.  The hike started from the parking lot of Basking Ridge Park on Basking Ridge Road (a continuation ofHellyer Avenue). Hikers then followed the Basking Ridge route to Metcalf Bridge,crossed over Coyote Creek, and followed the Coyote Creek Trail back to the parking area. The flat loop hike was about 4-5 miles.

Harvey Bear Ranch Hike

Giesla Pearson led a 7-8 mile hike on moderately hilly open space trails They entered the park off San Martin Ave. and hiked on Willow Springs,Savannah, Gaviola, Blue Oak, and Coyote Ridge Trails.

Coyote Valley Open Space Hike

Deb Siedband led a hike to Coyote Valley open space off Palm.  The group hiked approximately 4 mile on a undulating hike with moderate elevation and a mixture of trees and open area.

Mount Diablo State Park Hike

Dan Kato led a long hike at Mount Diablo state park.  They started at the Diablo Valley Overlook near the Juniper Campground. Then they took the “Grand Loop” for a total distance of about 6.8 miles and a vertical climb of 1820 ft.  The loop consisted of the Deer Flat Trail, the Bald Ridge Trail on the North Peak and Juniper trails.  This was a challenging hike, not so much from distance but by the vertical climb.

Shoreline Park Hike
