Evergreen Square Hike

Katy Peretti led a rambler hike to Evergreen Plaza via Montgomery Hill. The route took them through the neighboring Estates and then headed north on Yerba Buena Road along the boundary of Montgomery Hill Park. The round trip distance was about five miles.

Wilder Ranch State Park Hike

Castle Rock State Park Hike

Brad Hinckley led a hike loop of about six miles along the North part of Castle Rock State Park along Hwy 9 starting at Saratoga gap on Saturday, August 10th.

Los Gatos Creek Trail Hike

Sandy and John Petrin led an “out and back” hike on Wednesday, August 7th from Oak Meadow Park, (233 Blossom Hill Rd) along Los Gatos Creek to the Purple Onion Café (for coffee/treats).

Bear Creek Redwoods Hike

Dan Kato led a long hike at the recently opened Bear Creek Redwoods in the Open Space Preserve. This was a challenging climb of about 1400 ft. to the summit at Madrone Knoll. Total hike length was about 8 miles. They were wide, well groomed trails through a beautiful redwood forest, shaded almost the entire length, and the climbs were not too steep. Part of the group broke off to do a less challenging hike.

Coastside Trail – Half Moon Bay Hike

Ramon and Marianna Reza led an out and back hike on Wednesday, July 24th on the Coastside Trail, a winding, flat, paved trail that goes in and out from the edge of the Pacific Coast. Round trip hike distance was approximately 5 miles.

Golf Course Hike

Gary and Terry Holmquist led a hike on the golf course cart paths. Walkers can do about 2 miles or four miles with about a 200 foot elevation gain. .
