Coyote Regional Park

On 3-Mar-2024 eight Rambler hikers set out to Coyote Hills Regional Park in southern Fremont. With the very nice weather all were able to enjoy spectacular views across the Bay from the Dumbarton Bridge and the Palo Alto area north to the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge, San Bruno Mtn, San Francisco, the SF-Oakland Bridge and even Mt. Tam. The hike was just under 4 miles and very easy. The poppies were in bloom and the group survived an encounter with a “rafter” of wild turkeys who knew better than to mess with Villagers. Pictured are John & Mimi Zhang, Judy Yang, Sandy Petrin, Jane Ruona, Mary & Tim Robinson. Photo by John Petrin.

Joesph Grant County Park Hike

On 29-Jan-2024 Five intrepid ramblers headed for Joseph Grant County Park at the top of Quimby Rd for a 5+ mile hike. The destination of Almaden-Quicksilver County Park was scrapped due to imminent rain and this was a bit closer. The rain stayed at bay while everyone enjoyed a beautiful hike. It included a family of wild pigs (at a distance) stirring things up as well as quite a few wild hares checking us out.
