On 2-23-2022 Pam Thompson  led a Silver Creek Valley County Club Rambler hike. They met at 10:30am in the Silver Creek Valley restaurant parking lot.  They had lunch at their Bistro after the hike.

Shoreline Park Hike

February 16: Wendy and Rich led a hike at the Shoreline Park in Mountain View. We brought our binoculars and cameras.  We saw many migratory and other shoreline birds.

Almaden Quicksilver County Park Hike

On 1-12-2022 Wate and Johanna Bakker led hikes in Almaden Quicksilver county park. Johanna led a 3 to5 mile ramble, while Wate did a 5 to 8 mile hike. Both hikes started at the Mockingbird Lane Parking lot. There was several ups and downs on both hikes.

Silver Creek Valley Hike

 On Wednesday, January 26th John Petrin led a 4-mile rambler hike from the parking lot on Silver Creek Valley Rd (on the right just before HWY 101 and across from the new VA Clinic). They hiked north to the picnic area by Cottonwood Lake and took a break. The R/T hike was 4 miles.

Coyote Creek Hike

On 1-5-2022 Al Girolami led a hike along Coyote Creek. The route will start at the Silver Creek trailhead and go south about two and a half miles passing the Ford Road Ponds and returning after reaching Coyote Pond for about a 5-mile round trip. The trail is paved with little elevation.

Annual New Years Hike

The club and guests celebrated the New Year on Top of our hill. The top of our tallest hill, at 2,300 ft. was reached by the group of long hikers that started from Foothill Center, The ramblers started at the garden parking lot and hiked the lower hill trails to the picnic tables at the intersection of Sky and Ohlone. There were 33 hikers in the group picture at the top and an additional 28 counted on the way back down.

Holiday Walk

 


The Hiking Club went for an evening stroll through the Villages to enjoy the holiday decorations.  They gathered at Foothill at 6pm on Monday, December 20th and when they returned, there was coffee, tea, hot chocolate with marshmallows and hot cider to warm them all back up.
