Amy Meier led a hike in Windy Hill Preserve of approximately 7.5 miles with a 1200 ft. elevation. They started at the Portola Road entrance and hiked a loop trail on Spring Ridge, Betsy Crowder and Hamms Gulch trails.

 

Brad Hinckley led a hike along Coyote Creek to Hellyer Park from Blossom Hill Road on a paved trial on Wednesday, January 23rd. Total distance was about 3-4 miles.

 

Russ Glines led a hike up our hill starting at Foothill Center on Saturday, January 19th..

 

 

The long hikers  led by Akiko Giordono hiked the Calero County Park from Rancho San Vicente Entrance off McKean Road.  The trails there were in better condition than Rancho Canada del Oro as originally planned thus the reason for the change.  They went on the Lisa Killough Trail to Lisa’s Lookout, then go down to Cottle Trail toward the reservoir and back to the parking lot about 8.2 miles.  The ramblers  hiked up to Lisa’s Lookout and back which was about 5.4 miles of hiking. 

 

The hiking Club held its Annual White Elephant Gift Exchange and Soup Supper fun event on Thursday, January 10 starting at 5:30 pm at Foothill Center.

 

 

Katy Peretti led a 4-5 mile hike to Starbucks/New Seasons onWednesday, January 2nd.

 

 

The Hiking Club once again celebrated New Year’s Day at the top of our tallest hill, at 2,300 ft. elevation. Rich Bainbridge lead the long hikers to the top, starting from Foothill Center, leaving at 9:30AM. The celebration started at about 11:30 AM at the top of the hill. Total hiking distance was 4-5 mile round trip, depending on which trails were taken. For a more leisurely pace and a slightly shorter distance, some of the hikers started at the upper garden parking lot and went to the picnic table by Ohlone and Skyway.

 

 

The hikers did a 9.2 mile hike in Grant County Park along the Canada de Pala, Pala Seca and Antler point trails on Saturday, December 29th.

Rich Bainbridge led a hike in Vargas Plateau Regional Park on Saturday , December 22nd of about 4 miles.

 

 

Brad Hinckley led a hike to the Anderson Reservoir and on to the Model Airplane airport along Coyote Creek. It was a moderate hike on level ground of about 5 miles.
