Nancy Rumple led hikers on a 8-9 mile hike with a 1,000 foot elevation gain from the San Martin Ave. entrance. The group hiked up to and looped the Ed Wilson Trail. There were good views of the Coyote Dam and Valley. There were a variety of beautiful wildflowers.

Coyote Creek Trail Hike
Johanna Bakker led a hike along the Coyote Creek Trail. The hike started from the parking lot of a small park on Baskin Ridge Avenue (a continuation of Hellyer) after the light at Tennant/ Silicone Valley/Bernal. Hikers followed a Baskin Ridge route to Metcalf Bridge, cross over Coyote Creek, and then followed the Coyote Creek Trail back to the starting point. The hike was a flat loop hike of about 4-5 miles.

Al Girolami led a hike in our own open space on Wednesday, January 17th . They met and started at Foothill Center at 8:30am and hiked the following trails: Past the Stables to Rawhide, up to Ohlone (Indian), crossover to Skyway and visit the Indian Grinding Rock. Then down on Skyway and up on Bay and down on Richter and then taking Joe Marsh to the Upper Gardens and passing through Valle Vista and back to Foothill Center.

Wate and Johanna Bakker led fourteen Ramblers on a four-mile hike in Shoreline Park on Wednesday, January 10th. After two days of rain, the all weather paths at Shoreline proved to be a perfect choice. The cool morning provided a perfect setting for large flocks of birds. As usual, the hike ended at the Shoreline Cafe with a hearty extended lunch and much conversation.
