Gisela Pearson led a hike at Henry Coe State park on Saturday, September 23rd from Headquarters to China Hole and back of 10 miles.
ALum Rock Hike
Rich Bainbridge and Wendy Ledamun led a Rambler hike on Wednesday, September 20th in Alum Rock Park along the valley trail of about 5 miles round trip. There was an elevation gain of 300 feet. The group met a docent walking his barn owl.
Sweeney Ridge Hike
A group of ten long hikers and ramblers did a combined hike at Sweeney Ridge near San Bruno on Saturday September 16th. They started at the trail head on Sneath Lane and hiked up to the top of the ridge, a vertical climb of about 1000 ft, to the spot where Spanish explorer Portola first saw San Francisco Bay. After that they hiked up the Baquiano Trail to a spot where they had lunch and saw beautiful views of the town of Pacifica. They then hiked back up up the Baquiano trail to the old Nike missile site and finally back down to the trail head. Total distance was about 8 miles. After the hike all had lunch at Nick’s restaurant in Pacifica.
Pao Hus Buddhist Temple Outing
Susan Brown led an outing to Pao Hua Buddhist Temple on Mckee Rd where we learned a little about Chinese Buddhism. Afterwards we visited the Overfelt Garden Park nearby and saw many Chinese architectures and statues.

Calero County Park
Nancy Rumple led a hike in Calero County Park that was 7-8 miles with a 1000 ft. elevation gain on the lower trails in the park and the trail consisted of hiking in and out of shade.

Skyline to the Sea Hike
Brad Hinckley led a hike on Wednesday, September 6th on part of the Skyline to the Sea Trail, west of Saratoga. They started at the area of Hwy 9 and Hwy 236 and hiked up and then down in the beautiful Redwoods for approximately 5 miles.
Coyoty Lake-Harvey Bear Ranch Hike
Al Girolami led a hike to Coyote Lake- Harvey Bear Ranch County Park. The hike was about 4 miles on a mostly wide trail with an elevation gain of about 550 feet.They parted at the no fee Mendoza Ranch entrance and hiked up the Coyote Ridge Trail and then up the Mummy Mountain Trail to the top with a great view of Coyote Lake. Then they completed the loop downhill to the parking area.
Wunderlich County Park Hike
Rich Bainbridge and Wendy Ledamun led a hike in Wunderlich County Park in Woodside on Saturday, August 26th. The hike was approximately five miles and wondered through beautiful stands of mixed redwoods, madrones, oaks, and a lovely open meadow.
Coyote Creek Hike
On Wednesday, August 23rd Rich Bainbridge and Wendy Ledamun led a hike in Coyote Creek.
Purisima Open Space Area Hike
Amy Meier led a hike in the Purisima open space area on Saturday, August 19th, starting at the trail head near Highway 1, south of half Moon Bay. The trail was through redwood trees with sunny areas with grass and chaparral. The nearby ocean keep the group cool. The elevation difference was about 1800 ft
