Cookie Hunley led 17 hikers on a 5 mile hike round-trip from the Coyote Creek trail head on Blossom Hill Road to Cottonwood Lake at Hellyer County Park. After the hike, they enjoyed lunch at the Double Golden Chinese Restaurant located nearby. Coyote Creek appeared to be completely dry, and Cottonwood Lake was about 10-12 feet below its normal level. It was a pleasant morning hike with ample shade from the large trees that line the creek.
