On 19-Apr-2023Â the Bakkers got a crowd of people numbering 16! Â They broke into 3 groups. One rambler & two separate long hiker groups. Michelle Breslin, Mary Stradner, Dan Kato, Deb Siedband, and Amy Meier did a 6 mile hike in Henry Coe Park. They saw manzanita, varieties of oak and other trees, wildflowers and small streams, various birds including displaying turkeys and one deer.

On Wednesday, April 12, Sandy & John Petrin led a 10-person hike around Lake Elizabeth in Fremont., The hike was easy, level and about 4.4 miles for most, 2.2 miles for those looking more for a “Lite Rambler” distance. Along the way there was a lot of waterfowl and even some new goslings! About noon we adjourned to Panera for a nice lunch. The weather was nice but cooled off in the late morning and the wind came up.

On April 5, 2023 – Sandy & John Petrin led a hike of 10 folks from Oak Meadow Park, east along Los Gatos Creek to the Garrett Station restaurant for an early lunch. The round-trip hike was about 4 miles with some shade along the way. It was a lovely day as we passed by scenic Vasona Lake and the dam on Los Gatos Creek. In the first photo it shows the gushing water from the dam – a sight none of the hikers had ever seen before. The other photo depicts a section of the normally dry trail that was closed due to extensive flooding. The hikers had to alter course a bit to stay above the mud. 
On 1-Apr-2023 Guy Hoover led a group to Carmel CA. Part of the road collapsed from the storms and we walked in the beach to get around the damage you can see in the pic they were repairing it
On 25-Mar-2023 group of members joined together to go up into our hills to do trail maintenance. They accomplished several projects and ended the morning with a luncheon provided by the club.
