Shoreline Park Hike

On 15-Feb-2023 John & Sandy Petrin led a hike at Mountain View’s Shoreline Park. The hike was easy and about 4 miles. Everyone had lunch at the adjacent Shoreline Lake American Bistro. There were 15 participants and the weather was excellent but, of course, cool. The photo omits Sy Gelman and Sandy Petrin as they focused on to variety of birds posing for photo ops and Sy was loving it. This photo is also missing the “speedsters” who may be in a separate shot, per Pam Thompson.

General Meeting-A Bug in the Grass

On Monday, January 30 at the monthly meeting the club experienced a delightful presentation. All the recent rains foreshadow a rebirth of life in our outdoor spaces. The  meeting program featured a visual and descriptive presentation by John Trudeau. Here we see close-up views of some of the simply beautiful bits of nature that we encounter every day – if we take the time to look. There are images of “critters”, plants, rocks and other expressions of nature here in the East Bay hills and beyond. We will see how different patterns in nature are expressed in surprising ways – when we look closely.
