Santa Teresa County Park Hike

On 8-3-2022 Al Girolami led a hike in Santa Teresa County Park. This is the third of the Santa Clara County Parks 2022 Magnificent 7 #PixInParkshikes.  The hike was 3 miles with only a 300 ft. elevation gain, poles are recommended. The route started on the Mine Trail and then did a loop on the Vista Loop where there is a historical grinding rock.

Coyote Creek Trail Hike

On 7-27-2022 Sandy & John Petrin  led a 4-mile rambler hike from the parking lot on Silver Creek Valley Rd (on the right just before HWY 101). They hiked north to the picnic area by Cottonwood Lake and took a break.  The R/T hike was about 4 miles and mostly shaded.

Coastside Trail-Half Moon Bay Hike

On 7-20-2022 Rich and Wendy led an out and back hike on the Coastside Trail – Half Moon Bay. It was a winding, flat, paved trail that when in and out from the edge of the Pacific Coast. At mid-hike. The group stopped for a leisurely lunch at one of the neighboring, reasonably priced restaurants.

Ed Levin Hike

On 7-13-2022 Al Girolami  led a hike in Ed Levin County Park. It was the second of the 2022 Magnificent 7 #PixInParks challenge in qualification for a commemorative T-Shirt. On a prior hike at Coyote Creek –Harvey Bear Park, 14 Ramblers qualified for the first; but it’s not too late for others to start the series. This hike is short (less than 2 miles) but rated moderate due a couple of 100 ft. rises. The route will be on a loop just west of Sandy Wool Lake on the Calaveras Ridge and Tularcitos Trails.

Summer BBQ Cook Out

Saturday, July 9th 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm The Villages Hiking Club held its annual Summer Cookout at Gazebo Park.  The Bocce Courts were reserved from 4 – 7 pm and our Cornhole Game was set-up and ready for action!.
Steve Siatocos performed singing and playing on his guitar again for us this Summer! Cookout included a choice of a hamburger, salmon burger or veggie black bean burger with all the trimmings, baked beans, cole slaw and dessert.

Windy Hill Hikes

On 7-6-2022 Johanna Bakker  led a hike to Windy Hill, for a 4mile rambler hike, starting at the top at Skyline Blvd.  It was an easy walk up to look- out points. The  long hikers did an 8 mile loop.
